In common with public conveniences elsewhere within Bath and North East Somerset Council’s area – the loos at Larkhall are due to close for good this coming August. All part of the Authority’s efforts to save money and not have to increase rates, it seems.

However, there is evidence Larkhall is not seeing the key turn in the lock for good without a fight. These posters are everywhere within that community.

Residents were on the steps of the Guildhall last night to lobby councillors and then went in to hear a statement being made to a meeting of the B&NES Cabinet.

Then, this coming Friday, June 14th, there is a public meeting being held in the New Oriel Hall in Larkhall at 6.30.

Organiser Lin Patterson says she wants people to stand up for their community. We have, she says, to ‘preserve the integrity of Larkhall and care for its residents and visitors.’
