Pix of the day. Wednesday, November 5th

Good to see the graphics going up on the hoardings surrounding the Assembly Rooms.

It has certainly improved the look of the security and safety barrier that will have to stay in place until the Grade 1 listed Georgian ‘palace of entertainment’ reopens in 2027.

The National Trust are spending a lot of money on adapting the building for climate change and installing a lift to all floors – improving access for all.

Original features are being conserved – including the 250-year-old chandeliers – and, inspired by research into real people of that era, a group of ‘resident’ fictional characters will bring to life the rich and varied stories of the city.

The writing is on the wall, as they say. Read it for yourselves, next time you are passing.
