Can you help keep Bath looking lovely!

My pic of the day today referred to the beautiful flower beds in Orange Grove and the work put in by the Parks Department in keeping them looking that way.

It’s prompted an email from Susan Symons, which reminds me that not all the effort of keeping Bath looking ‘blooming lovely’ is done by paid B&NES employees.

She writes: ‘Bath in Bloom (BIB) is currently trying to attract some new volunteers to not only continue maintaining the areas we currently care for, but possibly take on new spots around the city that could benefit from our attention.

To that end, we have been inviting anyone similarly minded who would like to occasionally spend a few hours gardening to join the team.

We are holding a session at 10 am next Thursday, 5th June, at the Manvers Street Car Park flower beds for a little ‘gardenkeeping’ (please see attached copy of our current poster).

As always, we aim to enhance our local area for residents and visitors and support our community groups in their horticultural and environmental endeavours.

I  would be very grateful if you would include this information in your upcoming news email.”

Happy to do that, Susan.
