The figure of Justice on the roof of Bath’s Guildhall is a bit of a clue to a former use of at least part of the 18th century building – which originally housed a courtroom with ancillary offices.
Just for a while parts of that former judicial set-up are reverting to their original role to film scenes for a television mini-series which will re-create one of the most scandalous chain of events in recent history – the Profumo Affair.

The Trial of Christine Keeler centres on the young woman who found herself at the heart of a political sex scandal that rocked the British government in the 1960s.

Filming has started in Bath and Bristol and this will result in a six-part mini tv series for BBC One which does not have a release date as yet.

Some big names in the cast list. This is part of a press release the BBC put out last December.
B&NES are at pains to let the public know that the Guildhall is still functioning with its normal services.
