Christmas Eve brought blue skies and calmer and colder weather after the deluge of the previous storm-filled

day. It also brought a whole new look to heritage with one of the Victorian mail boxes in Laura Place standing proud in the centre of its own little lake.
On the other side of Pulteney Bridge a chance to look down and see how the additional volume of water being carried down the Avon has completely submerged the Weir.

Meanwhile it is always a sadness to see how the Christmas tree in Abbey Church Yard always disappears before Christmas.

I don’t think the weather helped – but it always gets removed before the Christmas and New Year revellers arrive to wreck it.
The benches in the Church Yard also seem to disappear for a while to prevent them being damaged. Peace and good will to all eh.
