Time to spread the love a little further, I think so over we go to Bradford on Avon for news of a lecture series at the United Church in St Margaret’s Street.

The attached poster advertises the sixth lecture in the 2026 series.
This will be ‘Architectural Portraits: photographing our heritage’ by James Davies, lead photographer for Historic England. His colour photographs of buildings from prehistoric to modern, in Wiltshire and neighbouring English counties, have come to be an outstanding feature of recent volumes in The Buildings of England or ‘Pevsner’ series.
Capturing the image that does justice to the detail and setting of each monument, waiting for or creating the light that illuminates are special qualities in his work.
He has particular renown for his images of modern architecture, such as his of the Pavilion by I.M. Pei at Oare House on the poster.
As always, the event will be at the United Church, 10 St Margaret’s Street, Bradford on Avon BA15 1DD. Tickets are available for cash at Ex Libris bookshop, The Shambles, before the event, and on the door on the night, for card or cash. Doors open at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 start. Coffee and tea will be available (free) from 7.00.

Attached is also a poster for the Museum’s Annual Lecture the following month on Thursday 8 October, which will be held in St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon.
The speaker will be Professor Josh Pollard, leading archaeologist and expert on Avebury and its landscape.
