Prompt action, it would seem to deal with the latest ‘ foaming’ of the Laura Place fountain, as Dr Michael Pritchard writes”
“Contractors were out yesterday cleaning the Laura Place fountain of foam.
They didn’t get to deal with any of the algae on the stonework, which is a shame, but at least the water is flowing again. The missing stone has been returned.”
Thanks, Michael. We ratepayers, pay for these call-outs, so it would be good if people could keep more of an eye on that rare water feature.
Maybe CCTV would be a good idea?
Needs something new there. A nice big feature obelisk like the one in Victoria Park, with a bench to sit on and enjoy the classical vista . Follow that up with a gravel walk down the centre of PulteneyStreet all the way to the museum. And get rid of those scrappy trees !
At least clean the outer stonework around the exterior of the basin in order to unify the whole structure.
