[Has this old box had its chips?]
Disused telephone boxes have often featured on my blog. The latest to be rescued lies at the bottom of the steps leading to the historic Gravel Path.

That’s being taken into care by Bath Preservation Trust and will no doubt help tell the history of the area when it is restored and fitted out.
These relics from our telecommunication past still form part of the city’s ‘streetscape’, which I am also featuring from time to time.

Yesterday I was pointing out the food waste left lying on the High Street pavement and the bird-proof bags tied to the railings of the Guildhall.
Now one of our regulars has entered the fray. Ralph Oswick writes:
‘I thought this made interesting reading, especially for Bath, where the streetscape is particularly sensitive. “

Ralph copied me into a website for an organisation called ADFREE CITIES . It’s a network of groups challenging corporate outdoor advertising and reclaiming public space for art, community and nature.
Check out https://adfreecities.org.uk. Meanwhile, Ralph gives an example of a ‘blot on the streetscape’ – and it’s another redundant telephone box.

‘There’s an almost unused phone box opposite my home (a bloke was living in it for a while), which is virtually a very ugly hoarding for McDonald’s.’

Thanks for the images, Ralph. What do other people think?
