A new tarmac path is being laid on a section of canal towpath between Bathwick Hill and Sydney Gardens but it has not reopenedyet.
I was hearing therewassome dispute between B&NES and the Canal & River Trust over the final top dressingbut, while that cannot be confirmed, l have some good news.
A spokesperson for B&NES told me: ‘The Canal & River Trust has confirmed that a final stone-chipped surface will be applied and will match the surface of the towpath on the opposite side. The Trust aims to complete the works and reopen the path in the first week of June.‘

Also can anyone explain why the beautiful wild flowers have been dug up and replaced by inappropriate ( and now dying) garden plants along the path from Sainsbury’s ? Ridiculous waste of money
