Sad to see a gallery close.

Sad to hear Sandra Higgins is closing her gallery in Shire’s Yard.

It’s been an exciting focal point for contemporary artists for some time and will be sorely missed in a city that isn’t exactly flying a giant flag for this diverse range of media and styles.

You have until April 26th to go see what is being showcased, and its certainly worth a visit.

Go into Shire’s Yard via Milsom Street and stay on the same level – don’t go down the stairs – and you’ll round a corner and see her gallery in front of you.

Sandra says she has plans to continue ‘online’ and with pop-ups and special events and projects.

  1. So sad. I saw it when I visited Bath a few weeks ago. But a sign of the times, I’m afraid. And I’m as guilty as the next man for buying far too much online, and thereby contributing to the downfall of the retail community. I just hope the business continues to thrive – whatever its delivery model.

  2. Most businesses in Shire’s Yard have struggled – there have been many short-lived occupants between long periods of empty premises. It doesn’t get a huge amount of footfall.
