Looks as if it’s going to be a Bath in bloom week.
After my ‘Pic of the Day’ yesterday, Bernadette Burt wrote: ‘Loved the wisteria, and see the attached at the Holburne Museum!”
Gorgeous. A beautiful blue but what is it?
Thanks for your comments! See below. Ceonothus it is!

It’s a Ceanothus, or Californian lilac.
Could it be ceanothus possibly?
That’s not wisteria!! It’s a blue ceonothus!!

Hi Richard,
Without seeing this beautiful plant up close , we wondered if it was a Ceanothus (California Lilac) rather than a wisteria? In any event thanks for posting it.

Those comments are correct, it’s definitely ceanothus. Wisteria is a little later, usually May.
Hi again Richard, it looks like everyone who has responded is in agreement about the ceanothus… but I didn’t know it was also called a Californian Lilac, so it’s nice to learn something new.
Thanks for your wonderful blog, it is a go-to everyday to see what’s afoot in our beautiful city.
