My thanks to Mark J Rose for these images of the construction of the temporary fire station on the Lower Bristol Road.

Things appear to be moving along quickly. This will be home to Avon Fire and Rescue Service while their permanent home on Bathwick Street is demolished and rebuilt.

  1. They may be moving along quickly but they have no planning permission for this. The contaminated soils officer requested another report – it has not materialised. She also requested another one at Bathwick Street and that request was ignored too. Of course, it is the same planning officer for both applications – is there some antagonism there since he has chosen to ignore her requests? It is folly by the council to allow this unauthorised work to continue – it sets a precedent which other developers will leap on.
