Sandwiched between the Crystal Palace Pub and the Abbey Deli at Abbey Green is a Grade 11* listed Georgian townhouse only ever occupied by holiday guests. However, over one weekend in June, we’ll all get a chance to peek inside.
Here’s the email l received from Natalie Craven, who is the Engagement Officer for The Landmark Trust:
“I’m emailing from The Landmark Trust to share details of our upcoming events and a rare opportunity to explore Elton House, a beautifully preserved Georgian townhouse in the heart of Bath that is usually occupied by Landmark holiday guests.

Not open to the public since 2018, we invite you to join us at two special events on the weekend of Saturday, 14 – Sunday, 15 June 2025.
Both events would appeal to history and architecture enthusiasts, curious city explorers, local residents, tourists and day trippers.

Founded in 1965, The Landmark Trust is one of Britain’s leading building conservation charities that rescues at-risk buildings, turning them into beautiful holiday accommodation for short breaks.
This year we celebrate our 60th anniversary since our founding by Sir John Smith. Everyone is welcome to visit and explore our buildings at Landmark Open Days and find out more about how The Landmark Trust rescues buildings for future use.”
It sounds fascinating, Natalie, and thanks for letting us know.
