It’s a good play on words John.
As the Bath Echo points out on its website: ” Dating back to the 1890s, the original Bath Press (site) was home to the Pitman Press printing works, led by Sir Isaac Pitman. The site became vacant in 2007 and was demolished.”
Apart from the facade of course. Isaac Pitman invented shorthand. Once upon a time – using his system – l could write one hundred words a minute!
Yes – we DO need to remember the place shorthand had in our office organisation. My troubles started when I left notes for my helpers – in shorthand – and they couldn’t read them !!!!
