[The choir on the steps of St Stephen’s Church, Lansdown – which is where they rehearse.]

With great pleasure, last night l joined members of the CitySound Voices Choir – and their Musical Director Matt Finch – for a very important cheque presentation.

It was the proceeds of the ‘Sounds of Our City’ concert – which l narrated – in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care, and held at the Roper Theatre in Bath back in March.

The cheque was received by Dan Varley, who is the community and events fundraiser for the hospice.

Dan – who attended the concert – said the money would cover the care costs of one of their clients for a day.

I was amazed to hear how much has to be raised to ensure this vital service continues!

Dan is on record as saying that, with hospices under increasing financial pressure, finding new ways to bring in income – and reach new supporters – has never been more important.
