The lido’s back

A quick turnaround yesterday, and back to Hampton Row for the official reception that followed a few hours after that initial historic first swim in Bath’s newly-restored Cleveland Pools.

Late evening and the crowds have gone.

This time the gear WAS working and l was able to get that interview with Paul Simons, the Chair of a trust that has worked so hard, and over so many years, to reach this day.

Also a quick chat with Sharron Davies, MBE who is a Patron of the Trust.

Amongst the non-swimming guests, the Mayor and Mayoress of Bath, Cllr and Mrs, Rob and Amanda Appleyard

It’s taken a 18-year campaign to save the Pools with the help of a National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) £6.1 million grant, and other sums of money from elsewhere.

Cleveland Pools is back in business – and looking better than ever – after a gap of almost 40 years!

Keep an eye on www.clevelandpools.org.uk for further updates regarding swimming days and prices.
