Uke Can’t Be Serious

This enthusiastic group of Ukelele players are currently representing Bath in our ‘twin city’ of Aix en Provence at their international music twinning festival.

They are also known as Uke Can’t Be Serious and, says Marian McNeir, the news from Aix is that they have gone down a storm with concerts in the Cathedral and in the streets and squares.

They play for fun and for charities and on 29th April they raised £1000 for Ukrainian families with a pop-up concert at St Mary’s Church in Marshfield.

Marian is Chairman of the Bath – Aix en Provence Twinning Association and told me how pleased the Association was to ‘support such excellent ambassadors for the city.’

‘Every year we send a musical group to Aix – we are now looking for our musical ambassadors for 2023.’
