Future of former gasworks site

St William, a joint venture between the Berkeley Group and National Grid formed to regenerate under utilised gasworks and gasholder sites, will soon be holding public consultations on the future of the former Bath Gasworks site.

The first, of two public exhibitions, will take place over three days later this month:

  • Wednesday 23 February: 12noon – 4pm
  • Thursday 24 February: 12noon – 4pm
  • Saturday 26 February: 10am – 4pm

Venue: Green Park Station Foyer, Green Park Road, Bath, BA1 1JB

All information available to view at the public exhibition will also be online from 23 February 2022 at: www.bathgasworks.com

The under utilised former gasworks, located off Windsor Bridge Road, forms part of the wider Bath Western Riverside area which is allocated for a high-density urban form development in Bath and North East Somerset Council’s adopted Development Plan.

The St William land has the capacity to accommodate approximately 625 – 675 new homes alongside public open space, non-residential uses, a sustainable transport route and areas dedicated to ecology.

Phase 1 of Bath Western Riverside, delivered by Crest Nicholson, has provided over 800 new homes, public open space, jobs and infrastructure. St William are committed to delivering the next chapter in the evolution of the Western Riverside Quarter and fully realising the potential of this important site.

A further public exhibition and other engagement and consultation activities will take place ahead of the submission of a planning application to Bath and North East Somerset Council later this year.
