If you want to know how to support Bath’s economy? Just come out into the High Street and spend your money.
That was the message the newly-elected West of England Mayor, Dan Norris, brought to the city this morning. But – he added – be ‘reckless’ with your money but not with your health.
As the recovery begins and restaurants, cafes and indoor attractions reopened, Dan, who is a former local MP and government minister, was visiting Mokoko – just off Abbey Church Yard – to encourage people to get behind businesses like it – and to hear more about the issues and support the hospitality sector needs.
I asked him how he thought he could help the recovery of our local economy.
