I am expecting a string of press releases from B&NES in the days to come – once the Easter Bank Holiday week-end is behind us.
It follows the change of leadership of the ruling Lib-Dem group which saw Cllr Kevin Guy replace Cllr Dine Romero – two years into the administration’s term of office.
We’ll be waiting to see whether Cllr Guy will want a re-shuffle within his cabinet and how his plans for continuing to implement the group’s manifesto promises might vary in content and direction – as we come out of lockdown.
In the meantime he’s given me a holding statement this Easter Monday.
He told me :
‘Both Dine and I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support we have received since a change in the leadership structure was announced.
As the country comes out of lockdown, and the priorities shift to rebuilding and renewing, again, as a local party we can’t express enough thanks to Dine for steering us through this unprecedented time so successfully.
We would not be in the position we are now without her leadership, and her skill at bringing together many partners for the good of all who live in Bath and North East Somerset.
Both of us are looking forward to continuing to work closely together over the next two years as Dine takes on a senior Cabinet role.
Over the next few weeks, more will be shared about how the Lib-Dem group will continue to work together to deliver its manifesto promises.’
