Looking for something a little different to do outdoors – as lockdown slowly loosens its bonds?
Lynne Passfield writes:
‘Bath Croquet Club occupies a corner of the Recreation Ground in the centre of Bath.
We have four lawns that reopened for play on 29th March in line with current Government COVID guidelines but I wonder if many of the residents of Bath know we are there?
Croquet has been played at ‘The Rec’ as far back as the late1800s, possibly earlier.
Croquet is a game that is very well suited for engagement whilst also social distancing and being an outdoor activity, operating all year round, helps its members to stay active.
I have recently become Chairman and along with the committee am very keen to develop a wider recognition of what is on offer from our Club for the community.
We are planning to offer free taster sessions in May and I attach a leaflet that will be distributed.’
Good luck with your recruitment drive Lynne!
