While the plans for turning the Grade 11* listed old Mineral Water Hospital buildings into a hotel continue to exercise B&NES planning committee’s attention – they want to have a site visit – proposals to permanently record the history of the old building continue apace.
Paul Thomas sent me an email – following my thoughts on the subject. I said l thought the future of the building depended on making it economically viable.
Paul said: ‘It’s very important’ we don’t end up with an eyesore in the centre of Bath – waiting and waiting for planning permission.
As you know a group of patients, staff, and volunteers from both Universities and Bath Medical Museum are working hard to memorialise the RNHRDl by creating two ‘virtual’ models of the RNHRD in 2019 and 1749.
To complete the models with information and ‘vignettes’ from history we are looking for generous sponsors. We have raised £2K already but to cover the costs we need another three thousand pounds.
More details from firstname.lastname@example.org or bathmedicalmuseum.org.uk I hope your readers can help. To view a picture of the ‘skeleton 2019′ model (without additional information) please go the the Bath Medical Museum Site.’
