Something to bear in mind – if you are members of the National Trust. Mike Noates writes:
“Although we are NT members we thought their invitation to non-members to access their grounds and gardens was a good thing.
My wife and I thought we would escape ‘oldie lockdown’ just to walk in the grounds of Dyrham or Stourhead at the weekend but I was very surprised to find that in both cases as well as other local NT places such as Tyntesfield, Court Gardens, the grounds/gardens are closed until further notice.
I can, of course, understand why they would shut the houses, shops and cafes.
So, yesterday, we took a walk in the Botanical Gardens in Royal Victoria Park. At least the magnolia bloom is brightening the gloomy days! (See attached)
I thought you might like to draw to the attention of your readers the fact that several NT sites will be closed and they should check the website before venturing forth!”
Thanks Michael. Apparently – according to the Dyrham Park website – ‘The parkland also remains closed to allow it to recover from recent wet weather.’
According to Tyntesfield – ‘Tyntesfield is currently closed, including the garden and parkland. We are unable to open safely due to staff shortages and government advice on social distancing measures.’
