Behind the scenes tours – Phase 2

As Bath Abbey’s Footprint Project moves into Phase 2, so does the ‘behind the scenes’ tours which enable people to see how this multi-million pound project – to stabilise the floor and improve church facilities – is proceeding.

The north side of the nave is now behind screens to enable to next section of floor to be lifted.

John Taylor, who is one of the tour guides, told Bath Newseum: ‘The new tours run at 11am and 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at 2pm on Thursdays. Tours last about 1hr 15 mins.

The north side of the nave is now cordoned off for remedial work to begin.

There are lots of new things to see for people who may have been on a Phase 1 tour.
