Great to see how the business organisation Bath BID has teamed up with the plantsmen at the Parks Department to produce some amazing floral displays around the city.
This year too the Southgate Shopping Centre has joined in this ‘festival of flowers’ with its own living containers to cheer shoppers. Especially on a day like today (Thursday).
We have a reputation to keep up as frequent winners of local, regional and national ‘In Bloom’ competitions and want to show off our city to tourists and residents alike as a place of colour and beauty.
Good to see so many traders joining in with the fun too – whether they be pub or law firm.
We hear a lot about trying to cut down on plastic as a major polluter of our environment.
I am not suggesting that artificial flowers and plants are quite the same as the garbage floating over and below our oceans but l do think our city of flowers is no place for the plastic variety.
Can we get the message through that you will win more admirers for going that extra mile and giving us the REAL thing.
I am surprised too at some of the top-line businesses that opt for tawdry plastic.
Judge for yourselves. Can you tell the real from the rest?
Please send me some of YOUR favourite real blooms and plastic patches.
