Some good news just in. Heritage champion Bryan Chalker has managed to raise the £600 needed to pay for a plaque to be cast in honour of the Bath woman who survived the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.
This acknowledgement of the city’s connections through Edwina Troutt – who went on to live to a hundred – will be pinned to a wall beside the Apple store in Southgate.
Bryan tells me:’ Thanks to your initial efforts in getting the ball rolling we have, today, reached our £600 target for the Edwina Troutt plaque.
Contributors are the American Museum, Penny Williamson, myself, my youngest son (with £150) and ******, who asks not to be identified.”
A generous supporter who saw Bryan’s appeal on this website!
