Bath’s Holburne Museum has decided to re-introduce admission charges to all its galleries to help balance the books.
You’ll be paying from early next month but there are some concessions and free periods.
The new policy has come about after weighing up ways in which finances could be improved.
In their financial statements – published in December of last year – the trustees stated that the Holburne believed enjoyment of the arts changed peoples’ lives and that the museum promoted this by keeping the building free to enter.
Bearing this in mind, l asked the Holburne’s Director, Dr Chris Stephens, what had changed?
