This year’s ‘Movie by Moonlight’ – held in Royal Victoria Park – has brought in a record amount of money for the Forever Friends Appeal – the fundraising charity for Bath’s Royal United Hospital.
The Appeal raises funds for all areas of the hospital – including the major fundraising RUH Cancer Care Campaign.
Hundreds of people sat down to watch Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-winning musical Moulin Rouge and gave generously in donations.
Katie Burfitt – who is development Officer for the Forever Friends Appeal – told Bath Newseum: ‘I can confirm the grand total exceeds £8,000 this year (over £6,000 of this is donations from buckets, with £2,000 corporate sponsorship and other donations from food stalls on the night.
The team is delighted as it’s an increase on last year’s fundraising total for this event and we’re so grateful to everyone that came along.’
