Watch the Xmas Market extension debate from your home!

B&NES have chosen what promises to be a lively planning meeting for a short test-run of its live webcasting abilities.

On the agenda of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Development Management Committee next week is an application to extend the  annual Christmas Market by a week and both residents associations and many established traders  will be voicing their opposition.

The Council will be webcasting live from the meeting, from 2pm on Wednesday 1 June, 2016.

Footage will be streamed live via the link: http://www.bathnes.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/227445 and will also be available to view and search through content as an archived recording for 6 months after the meeting.

Applications being discussed at the meeting include Bath Tourism Plus’s  Abbey Church Yard being used for the temporary Christmas Market from 24 November to 18 December 2016, including 173 retail chalets, 6 catering units and 4 mobile catering units.

The Development Management Committee will also consider updates from the Government’s Planning Inspectorate on planning appeals including a 326-berth marina at Keynsham, and two separate appeals concerning housing developments in Midsomer Norton and Paulton which have been withdrawn by the applicant.

Wednesday’s meeting is part of a short test-run of webcasting planning meetings. An archived recording of a previous planning meeting (from 6 April, 2016) is also available to view at: http://www.bathnes.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/219937.
