The Virtual Museum has heard from Jude Harris who is a

volunteer at Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution in Queen Square.
She tells me they are holding a Big Book Sale this Saturday (11.00-16.00, plus coffee and homemade cake) to raise funds for our conservation project.

“There is a shortlist of 5 objects from our historic collection, ranging from a Burmese harp to a stuffed Passenger Pigeon, in urgent need of conservation. There’s a survey online where you can make a vote for your preferred one:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TTR363Q and can also read about it on Facebook: http://brlsi.org/node/63915
These are all objects donated by citizens of Bath in the past and preserving them for the future keeps the history of the city alive.
Plus they continue to inspire today’s artists, having been used as creative inspiration for Bath Textile Artists’ recent exhibition, where they made work based on fossils, seals, teapots and minerals from the collection.”
