Caught up with some tree surgeons from B&NES busy cutting down a dead branch from one of the silver birches still gracing Laura Place. Stopped long enough to be reassured the whole tree wasn’t coming down.
They are the only attractive feature in this space now the fountain has stopped working.
The water is green with algae and full of rubbish.
Love to see silver birches lining the whole of Great Pulteney Street. They do not grow too large but would give a real seasonal feel to what is an impressive double wall of Bath stone.
Elsewhere – with many arguing against the
proliferation of street signage – whatever way you look at it New Bond Street is missing out.
Three examples of trying to name a street and not one of them is clearly visible.
