The Mayor of Bath, Cllr Malcolm Lees, was amongst the assembled dignitaries attending the special Festal Evensong at Bath Abbey on Sunday ( May 18, 2014) for Bath International Music Festival and the city’s Charter Trustees.
A packed church heard some fine singing from the Abbey Choir and full marks to staff who had to deal with a woman in the congregation who was taken ill.
Paramedics also crept in during the choral music to make her comfortable and then take her out of the building.
I do hope she is feeling better today.
This year’s Festival has ‘sleep’ as one of its themes and this was ‘referenced’ with a performance of the anthem Sleep with words by Anthony Silvestri and music by Eric Whitacre. Congratulations to Bath Abbey Choir – and Director of Music Peter King – for their delivery of this.
