
Not really the sort of weather today for trying them out, but good to see some new benches positioned against the railings outside the Guildhall this wet Wednesday morning.
There are three in number and this appears to be their final resting place.
Also, with a stroll through Abbey Green – originally the site of the monks’ bowling green – a chance to admire the new external coating on the recently refurbished Crystal Palace Tavern.

This popular pub dates from around 1780 and sits on a corner of a site already nursing a Roman tessellated pavement and medieval burial site in its depths.
