Bath’s Victoria Art Gallery is currently staging a stunning loan exhibition of more than 50 paintings and drawings to mark the centenary of the birth of an artist who is reckoned to be the city’s most famous painter since Gainsborough.
This exhibition – which runs through to November – covers all aspects of his distinguished career. It includes loans from the Arts Council Collection and National Museum Wales and is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue, talks, tours and art workshops.
The Virtual Museum has been talking to Jonathan Benington who is the Gallery Manager.
