Park fight-back from B&NES

(A still frame from the B&NES video, which is now viewable on Facebook)

Returning to that controversial cycle path in Royal Victoria Park and the interview I did with David Dixon – the man who started an online petition against B&NES Council’s work to install a cycle route and new lighting and nearby pedestrian crossings through one of the city’s most attractive ‘green lungs’.

I told you I bumped into members of the authority’s communications team who were waiting to meet Cllr Lucy Hodges – the cabinet member responsible for the works – to record a video giving the council’s point of view.

Well, log on to Facebook now, and you can see it and judge for yourselves.

Meanwhile, David Dixon is due to meet the Leader of the Council, Cllr Kevin Guy, at 1 pm tomorrow. The online petition – started a week ago – has levelled out at 4,481 signatures.
