Bath-based blog regular Karen Harrowing was in Salisbury at the weekend.
She writes: ‘Whilst visiting Salisbury on Saturday, this shop stood out in so many ways.
Firstly, it was a beautiful shop with so many original paper advent calendars that drew the passer-by into the window.

The independents in Salisbury are all obvious, as their BID has supported the window painting. Very tastefully done but instantly recognisable as an independent shop.
The next obvious thing was that, even though it was small, it was a very busy post office as well as a Bureau de Change. It was so lovely to see this beautiful shop also with a lovely gift section, being well supported in the community.

I was reminded of the loss of our post office and changes with WH Smith’s when I noticed the clock above the (now) Waterstones shop. The weather vane is topped with a newsboy.
I enjoyed a lovely autumnal day in Salisbury with trains all on time, but definitely reflected on how things have been lost in Bath. This includes a convenient city centre post office but also the postal museum.
Oh a clock would be good to see Bath station clock re instated.
