[ A new face at Bath Abbey, where the Rev Dr Ian Mills has taken up his post as Rector of our parish church]
I spent a pleasant half hour in the city’s parish church this morning.
You will probably know it better as the Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul or simply as Bath Abbey.
I was there to meet the new rector of this Grade 1-listed, historic, and beautiful place of worship, which also happens to be one of our popular inner-city tourist attractions.
The Rev Dr Ian Mills is Irish-born but no stranger to Somerset.
He has swapped the care of seven churches in the Chew Valley for one big Abbey here in Bath.
He is also a man with an interesting alternative career background – as you will discover if you settle back and listen to our conversation.
