It’s one of the most popular annual events to grace the walls and floors of the Victoria Art Gallery, and this year it happens to be the Bath Society of Artists’ 121st open exhibition.
Today, Saturday, September 19th, is launch day, and this amazingly colourful and eclectic collection of art and sculpture will be on display until November 7th. Apart from enjoying what is on display, you can buy it too.
A handy numbered catalogue has all the details and the prices attached to 410 pieces on display.
Last night was private preview night for artists, members and friends, but l popped in yesterday morning, when artwork was still covered in owners’ tags and gallery staff still at work finishing off, to preview the event.
I was able to speak to a rather exhausted society chair, Geoff Shillito. I don’t think the poor man had enjoyed any sleep in the last 24 hours!
