This coming Saturday, around 2,400 people will set off at 11 am from the Royal Crescent, dressed in their finest Regency costumes, to begin an organised walk through the city.

It is, of course, the spectacular and colourful Promenade – the opening event of the annual Jane Austen Festival – and this year bigger than ever before!

However, if dressing up in period costume is your thing – and you fancy wearing your Regency finery while exploring Bath’s 18th-century architecture, whatever the time of year, then a new shop that’s just opened in Northumberland Place is where you should be heading.

Bath Regency Life was the idea of two friends who have come together to design and help make Regency outfits – both faithful to the period and with a bit of extra bling – for people to hire.

You can check out the website for the full picture of what’s on offer and how much it all costs, but you can step back in time, dressed for the period, and have your picture taken for around £30.
