I really feel it is time the council stepped in and banned plastic flowers on city premises. They look hideously cheap and tacky, and they are often put up on listed buildings with supports but without planning permission. So well done pubs such as the Old Green Tree, the Barley Mow, and the Star and any other premises who put out beautiful displays of real flowers. At one time my mother, Mrs Jean Fry, was the Bath in Bloom judge for shop and pub displays – she would be proud of you.
I agree Kirsten. Even the flipping Jane Austen Centre is garlanded with swathes of these ghastly plastic horrors. Lazy, tasteless and pointless!
