More than 50 artists have signed up to be part of this year’s Batheaston Art Trail, which will celebrate its 6th anniversary this September.
Although one of the youngest of the Bath Art Trails, the Batheaston Art Trail has become a regular event in the West Country arts calendar, offering art and craft lovers a great day out in a beautiful English valley.
Ceramicists, illustrators, graphic designers, textile artists, sculptors, painters, printers and jewellers will all be part of the 2026 art trail.
There will also be family-friendly creative workshops and a display of suffragette memorabilia in St John the Baptist Church. Batheaston has a long association with the Suffragette Movement, as many of the imprisoned suffragettes would come to Eagle House in Northend to recuperate once they had been released.
The Art Trail will take place over two days, Saturday 26th September from 11 am to 6 pm and Sunday 27th September, from 11 am to 5 pm. Please check the website for more precise information: www.batheastonarttrail.com
Apart from individual home studios, shared venues on the trail will be the Batheaston New Village Hall, the Youth Club and St John the Baptist Church, with the latter also offering lunches and refreshments. Workshops will be held in the village Scout Hall. Lunches and refreshments are also available at local cafés on the High Street on the Saturday.
With the River Avon, Secret and Forest Gardens and National Trust River path to the south and the idyllic St Catherine’s Valley to the north, the easily accessible village of Batheaston is the perfect place for a day out and is easily accessible by bus from Bath city centre.
The art trail celebrates Batheaston’s connection with the suffragette movement, with bunting marking the venues in the signature suffragette colours of green, purple and white. There will be a display of suffragette memorabilia in St John’s Church on the trail weekend.
