During my professional – and paid – career I was spoiled.
Whenever I set off to do a story l would have a cameraman to worry about the pictures and a soundman to ensure you could hear what everyone involved actually said.
These days it’s just me and a DJI Pocket 3 camera and wireless mics.
Now I have learned from my mistakes to always ensure the interviewee’s sound levels are good, but yesterday I also received a reminder that I should check my own too.
I set out with my husband Darren to meet up with Helen Huertas, who is the Cultural Programme Manager at the Roman Baths and responsible for the running of a special summer-based event.
During August, you’re invited to come along and enjoy Summer Lates – capturing some “after-hours atmosphere and a relaxed evening buzz at one of the UK’s most iconic historic sites”.
Between 5.30 pm and 10 pm, you can explore the museum, have a drink by the Great Bath, and, from Friday to Sunday, enjoy music sessions.
