Safely home from a wonderful birthday weekend in London and Paris, for which I thank my husband, Darren. Something he had been quietly and most generously arranging throughout the whole year.
We are also grateful to Alex and Richard for letting us use their ‘capital facilities’. Also to Richard and Mark for looking after Mr George in our absence.
Finally, thanks are due to all of you for your kind anniversary messages. It really did help soften the blow of becoming 77. Actually, I am delighted to have been allowed to get this far in Earth years and hope for many more to come.
Speaking of our home planet, I am dismayed at the harm we humans are inflicting on both it and on ourselves.
I want to think our city could do more in a green revolution that brings prosperity and happiness to all, not just the few, and one that makes room for all the other life forms that inhabit this planet.
On that note, I was pleased to hear that B&NES has voted to support a regional move to respect and safeguard the welfare of our beautiful River Avon. Something I will be looking into soon.
