One of the South West’s leading cultural organisations, based in our city, has unveiled a new name and visual identity as it enters a new phase of its development.
From today, Bath Philharmonia will become Bath Philharmonic Orchestra, reflecting the organisation’s growth and ambition following a period of significant artistic and community impact.
Over recent years, the orchestra has expanded its audiences reaching more than 12,000 people annually.
It has opened the doors to the concert hall for thousands of first-time concert-goers, deepened its nationally recognised work with Young Carers, increased its creative projects with schools and welcomed internationally acclaimed soloists to perform in Bath.
The new identity has been developed to better reflect an orchestra whose work now extends well beyond the concert platform, combining acclaimed performances with year-round creative projects for young people and communities across the South West.
Executive Director Simone Homes said: “Over the past few years we’ve grown not only in scale, but in purpose. We’ve become clearer about who we are, what we stand for and the role we want to play in the lives of our audiences and communities. Our new name and identity better reflect that ambition while remaining true to everything people value about Bath Phil.”
The new logo draws inspiration from the different instruments and people that come together to form an orchestra, while also referencing musical notation and the distinctive architecture of its home city of Bath. Although the organisation’s appearance has changed, its mission remains the same: to make live orchestral music welcoming, relevant and accessible to everyone.
The rebrand coincides with the launch of the orchestra’s 2026/27 concert season – the first to be presented under the name Bath Philharmonic Orchestra.
The season brings together internationally acclaimed artists such as Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, Sophie Bevan and Esther Yoo, established masterpieces and contemporary music in a programme celebrating the shared experience of live orchestral performance.
