The original bridge was a Suspension Bridge I have a photo in my archives which I will try to find.
Symbol of a breakaway group of Avon ladies, perhaps?
Avon was a non-metropolitan and ceremonial county in South West England that existed from 1974 to 1996. Centred around the River Avon, it was formed by combining the cities of Bristol and Bath with parts of historic Gloucestershire and Somerset. Following its abolition, the region was divided into four unitary authorities.T he former county was split on April 1, 1996, into the following four distinct unitary authorities: Bristol City Council; Bath and North East Somerset; North Somerset; and South Gloucestershire. While the administrative county no longer exists, the “Avon” name remains deeply embedded in local regional infrastructure, emergency services, and organizations. The territorial boundaries are still highly relevant today for services like the Avon and Somerset Police, the Avon Fire & Rescue Service, and the Avon Wildlife Trust.
Well you did ask!
There is a website related to that stencil/graffiti:

I’m not sure how spraying their logo everywhere quite aligns with their stated aims but there we are!
Perhaps they should be charged with criminal damage to our built heritage and nice stonework?
Search We are Avon…..a group who are guardians of the river Avon. They have recently done a pilgrimage walk along the length of the river. Check out https://weareavon.com/
I think you might want to talk to someone about it.
