At the bank’s end of Southgate Street, an apparently homeless man lies asleep in the hot midday sun.
A picture taken by Bob Constantine, who tells me:
“People were walking past, not sure what to do or why he chose to bed down in the middle of the thoroughfare.
I’m not sure how long he was there- when I went back later, he had gone, but his pile of bedding and possessions were still there.”
Thanks for the image, Bob. It’s a stark visual reminder that there are those who cannot go home to escape the heat.
