I don’t think I have ever seen the gardens at the American Museum looking so beautiful.

They are a credit to Head Gardener Annie Talbot and her team, and in their remodelled state, a lasting legacy for the former director Richard Wendorf.

We were invited up to Claverton Manor to join the special July 4th celebrations and not only wander through the garden in all its summer glory but enjoy this year’s special exhibition – “Circus of Curiosities: An Exhibition of Moving Marvels” which runs through to January next year.

It celebrates the art of automata – playful, intricate mechanical sculptures brought to life by hand. Visitors of all ages can explore a world of animated models, toys and whimsical characters.

This being a rather special July 4th, you can also see a rare original 1776 Declaration of Independence, which is on display in England for the first time during the 250th anniversary year.

Please visit https://www.americanmuseum.org/ for more information, but in the meantime, join us on a musical journey through today’s special Summer Party day.
Thank you for the great article on the. American museum & gardens. The gardens have never looked so good & I’m proud to say I’m part of the team of garden volunteers there & I love it.
