The Parks Department were out in town yesterday hanging the first of the floral baskets – paid for by Bath BID – which will add some colour to our city centre.

They have ditched wire baskets in favour of plastic ones, which have a reservoir for water and are less likely to dry out so quickly.
They just need a spray once a week – unless we get another prolonged hot spell.
Love the real living plants in Bath – but how sad that the parks dept have mown down the beautiful natural wild flower border at the side of hedgemead park. It had oxeye daisies , buttercups, pink campion , white dead nettles, sorrel yellow trefoil, dandelions and more and was a joy to see.
I also saw a team spraying weed killer on beautiful wild flowers along the edge of a pavement ! – are they not aware that they die naturally !
