I cycle along the canal towpath into town to avoid the London Road, but the one thing you can’t avoid is the sight of a generously-filled bin with assorted debris at its base awaiting collection.

On my way back from town, this was the same area. The emptied bin was roadside, but the assorted debris remained.

While in town – and I noted the time as 9.45 am – several piles were still waiting for collection. Cardboard from the pile outside the Guildhall was blowing across the High Street. I did stop to put some of it back.

Also, look at the mess outside Cafe Nero. Why isn’t all this waste collected earlier in the day?
I am not alone in my concerns. John Taylor writes:

‘More photos of our filthy city: this time on the main riverside path between Windsor Bridge and town.
This overflowing bin has been reported many times, but nothing has been done. ‘
