How 2027 promises a ‘Georgian Experience’

I have been lucky enough to be given a guided tour of a Grade 1 listed heritage building I thought I knew inside and out.

However, with conservation and construction work on the historic Assembly Rooms reaching the halfway stage, I have to say there was little within the building that I could recognise

At some point next year, it will reopen – completing its transformation into a new Georgian visitor experience and a place for 21st-century assembly.

Tom Boden

Tom Boden is the General Manager of the National Trust’s Bath Portfolio and the man showing me how things are progressing within the building they own and on which they are spending 20 million pounds.

He was quick to agree that it really is a major refurbishment!
